Pineapple smoothie bowl recipe

I've always liked smoothies, but over the past 6 months I've gone from always making banana with oats and chocolate to having a Pinterest board dedicated to them and mostly making them up depending on what's too ripe in the fruit bowl.

They make a great breakfast, whether you're on the go and need something to take with you, or if you're feeling a bit worse for wear after a night out.

My latest concoction is this delicious pineapple smoothie bowl. Pineapple is a super fruit packed full of vitamins. It contains vitamin C, which is an antioxidant and boosts our immune system. It also contains vitamin A. For the body conscious, it is known to avoid fluid retention and therefore contributing to a less bloated, flatter stomach.

The combination of the tart pineapple, the sweet banana and the creamy coconut make this feel like you're on holiday, and the bright yellow will make your morning happy and sunny even if it's raining outside! To make it extra indulgent, add some dark chocolate and a handful of almonds.

Although you could make it with tinned pineapple I would recommend using fresh fruit, which is much more beneficial for your body and doesn't have any preservatives and added sugars, counteracting the goodness you're trying to get from drinking a smoothie.

(Makes 1 serving)
- 1 cup of pineapple, cored and diced
- 1 small banana or half a large one
- A splash of coconut milk, cream or yoghurt
- 4 ice cubes
- A teaspoon of chia seeds
- A handful of whole almonds
- A few small pieces of dark chocolate

Put all the ingredients in your blender and hit the button! Then add the toppings and enjoy!

  1. Yeah I also heard that drinking Green energy drinks gives you fitness benefits by drinking 2-3 tea cups a day. Green Tea can also help in keeping the blood sugar constant in Diabetic patients.
