Make up

My make up hasn’t changed that much recently, and I’m still not wearing foundation during the day, so a good concealer is a must. I like something that brightens my under-eye area but that doesn’t look ashy. I was on the market for a new one and Lisa Eldridge published a post about concealers she has in her kit, one of which was this one by Revlon. I bought it with low expectations (I’d tried a Revlon concealer before and found it too heavy), but it has pleasantly surprised me. The consistency is very light and not too creamy, which means it doesn’t crease, and the staying power is fantastic. All in all, it gets a big thumbs up from me.

I spent 10 months using the same blush every day (Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Blushing Bride, in case you are wondering), and since March I have become completely fickle. First there was Nars Multiple in Orgasm, which I really enjoyed during the first part of the year. Now I have tanned a bit after a couple of trips home and it looks too pale on me, so I dug out this colourful blush by Bobbi Brown which I really really like. It is a bright coral with a light dust of shimmer. The pigmentation is very high, so you just need a tiny bit on your cheeks to look all summery.

I bought this a few months ago and it slowly has become something I reach for every morning to make myself look more awake. I use quite a small brush and dab a little bit of this highlighter in the inner corner of my eyes. In the evenings I will also use it on the top of my cheekbones. I find that if you use it sparingly and blend it well it is very subtle and it does make you look healthier.

Skincare

I’ve been sitting in front of this screen for the past ten minutes trying to think of something that stood out for me during the past month, and I honestly can’t think of anything. I quite like the serum I am using, I am getting a bit bored of my cleanser and my moisturiser is good but not as good as I hoped it would be. I’ve just placed an order for some new things on Lookfantastic so June may be full of skincare, who knows!

Fashion

I bought this while I was in Valencia last Easter and have worn it so much since! I pair with with ripped jeans at the weekend or very dark skinny jeans for work. It’s very lightweight so it works really well for spring and for the British summer evenings.

TV

Based on a true story, this HBO documentary tells the story of Robert Durst, a New Yorker whose wife disappeared in the early 1980s. Since then there have been several deaths that he looks so close to that it seems unlikely that he wouldn’t have anything to do with them. Back in 2010 Andrew Jarecki directed a film called All Good Things inspired by Durst’s story, with Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst playing the main two characters. Durst then reached out to Jarecki, wanting to be interviewed by him to tell his side of the story, which he had never done. The result is this 6 episode documentary that will have you on the edge of your seat. I have talked and talked about it to all my friends and got my friends Gary and Barbara hooked as well. If you have listened to Serial and enjoyed it, you need to watch this!

For the past few weeks I've also really got into The Affair, another drama from Sky Atlantic that is really, really good!

    1. They do! I'd also heard about them for ages and finally bought it last January. They also have a pink toned one, but I find this works better for me x

  3. I haven't got around to trying Topshop makeup yet but that little pot looks so cute! Love the jumper too. I must say, I have never reached for a Revlon concealer but next time I am in need of one, I will definitely give this one a swatch :) x
